I think this site has good potential to supplant some of the social aspects of boardgamegeek.com, so I'm excited it's here! I've only pretty recently started getting into boardgames, but they've become a weird obession with me, akin to when I got into indie-rock except now I have more disposable income. I live in Durham, NC, USA and spend my Monday nights at the Carrboro games meetup. I'm pretty open to games, except I'm not sure I'm crazy about cooperative games (I've only tried Last Night on Earth, Shadows Over Camelot, and Zombies! though), and am not interesting in being a huge wargamer right now. I really like Dominion and Power Grid. Settlers is certainly fun to play, and I'd like to get to know how to play Acquire, not just know the rules. It's always nice to not play teaching games of things, but I end up doing this a lot.

I'm still looking for the perfect party game (I think Cranium is close) but I have high hopes for Wits and Wagers.

My friends and I seem to buy games slightly faster than we can play them.

I actually have Le Havre, and I do think it's pretty fun.

As I get to know more people in the avid gaming community, I realize that my board game repertoire is fairly limited. Like most that have dabbled in German games, I really enjoy Settlers, and Carcasonne has lasting charm for me. Talisman is another one that is a blast even playing with novice gamers.
